About the project
I have been interested in mental health and mindfulness practices for the past years. With this zine I decided to document the practices that I use when I feel overwhelmed and stressed and share them with others.
I made the illustrations by hand with ink on paper, then I scanned them and I edited them in Photoshop. I used InDesign for the layout, where I added the text that goes alongside the illustrations.
I chose to print this zine using a riso printer, and binding it by hand with sewing, to keep the analogue handmade feel.
The size is intentional as well, the zine is meant to be carried around like a mental health small emergency kit.
What is Riso Printing?
Risograph printing (or RISO) is a digital stencil duplicator that blends screen printing's tactile look with a copier's speed, creating vibrant, layered prints using soy-based inks and paper stencils.
